Taylor Swift @ SoFi Stadium

By Carlin Nguyen on August 5th, 2023 | Music

A lot of things can happen in eight years (since her 1989 tour). Five years since Taylor Swift’s multiple-consecutive sold-out shows in the former Staples Center circa 2017 (now called Crypto.com Arena). And the precious moment of Kobe Bryant commemorating the sold-out shows with a banner of her own in the ‘House that Kobe Built.’ A ton of wonderful moments. But there can always be unexpected moments too.

But life goes on and so does music (in all types of genres). And five albums later, the 33-year old multi-platform award winner singer/composer began her last leg of her ‘Eras Tour’ in Los Angeles’ SoFi Stadium for six multi-consecutive sold-out dates. The multi-talented artist has been on her current tour since March. In recent interviews (leading up to the start of her ‘Eras Tour’), she wanted her current tour to be a celebration of all sorts – music selections from her past studio ten albums. Hence the name of her tour.

In this new concert format, she has done away with a traditional tour of promoting any given album. But instead, she implemented a snippet of melodies across her entire album discography. And also including several surprise songs. Some for which has not ever been played live. She ends up playing the tunes, “Enchanted” and “Long Live” – both as her surprises to the sold-out crowd of an excess of 70,000-plus swifties.

As she shouts-out to the crowds – “Is there anyone here who put in an extensive amount of effort to be with us here tonight..” after playing “You Need to Calm Down” track. The crowds erupt in total happiness and joy. And T.S. nods in approval. And even after playing “Champagne Problems” T.S. still needed to hear the crowd noise (without her earbuds). And as she tells the crowds, “We have a lot to catch up on (musically speaking)..and people would ask me if I intend to play again..well of course..like a three-hour show..that’s exactly what I intend to do.”

It comes at no surprise on the popularity of the ‘Era Tour.’ Lots of fans came from across the state. And some across the border of another country to attend her show in Los Angeles. Some fans relating some songs at some point of her discography across ten studio albums. Regardless of the feeling is sad, remorse, or joy — all can come together for happiness (under one roof). And as a bonus – friendship bracelets were a thing on night one (and will be for the rest of her world tour in 2023 and 2024).
