In her closeout US concert tour date for her GUTS World Tour, Olivia Rodrigo delivered a memorizing performance in the city of Angels on Tuesday night at the Intuit Dome. To begin off her sold-out show, she began with the explicit “bad idea right?” and thus bringing the crowds into the mayhem of uplifting emotions and high-spirited energy throughout her 2-hour set. It showed that over the expansion of several albums, including SOUR (debut album) and GUTS (sophomore album) that her fans still enjoy her infamous songs like “good 4 u” and “drivers license”, among others. During the tune “teenage dream” (from her sophomore album), visuals showing Rodrigo’s childhood on videos showing the realism of her past life experiences.
The surprise of the night – Rodrigo bringing guest rising star pop-artist – Chappell Roan. She came up on-stage to perform her hit “Hot to Go!”. And alongside Rodrigo, both performed the hit with their choreographed numbers together.
Many have praised Rodrigo for her unfiltered manner to mix raw emotion and visual impression of her live shows. The presentation of a crescent moon above the stage was spectacular during her calmer songs including “Traitor” and “Soon You’ll Get Better.” A change of up-tempo scene as Rodrigo was saying hello to other fans and posing for selfies with them along the way during “jealousy, jealousy”
With the soldout capacity of over 18,000-plus on Tuesday, as an added bonus, Netflix has plans to air a concert film for this show and anticipated for release in the fall months.
